Reducing the Cost of Product Returns
Retail fulfillment and distribution centers not only have to face the growing need for smaller and more frequent online purchases, but also have to brace themselves for the onslaught of returns that online ordering comes in tandem with.
In most fulfillment and distribution centers, the returns process is expensive and rarely is it prioritized, resulting in longer repayment times for end customers and slow restocking of viable merchandise.
It doesn’t have to be this way though. Automating as much of the returns workflow as possible will result in higher customer loyalty and increased resale of returned merchandise, minimizing the cost to the retailer and DC.
